Quote of the Day: 29 May 2010

Times columnist Giles Coren, offering a bit of historical perspective:
I was on the way to buy my morning paper the other day (it’s an outrage: they erected a “pay wall” around it in 1785 and ever since then you have actually had to pay money to read it)...

for those of you that have given a negative comment...take a look at the world! what were you doing at the age of nineteen? For one, i know i was trying to make it a seven night pub week in my local town...for those of you that stayed at home at that age, I can only hope you were probably wishing you were out with your friends. For Max, in my opinion, what he did is what most nineteen year olds are incapable of doing these days, and that is going out of your comfort zone into an unknown territory in India. What makes me laugh is the fact that I have read so many stories on Max, and envious people show themselves up enormously. I am a girl that grew up on a council estate and I am not afraid to say it how it is, and I dont think a middle class boy should be either. Good on ya Max for being true to yourself...when not alot of people in the world are. x
